Natural Hope Herbals Health & Wellness Day 2025 – What was it?
More than 1500 people (it could have been closer to 2000, but it was hard to get an accurate count) all gathered together in the remote, hidden hollow of the Mahantongo Valley called “Sneedaal” (Snowdale).
What brings all these folks from as far away as Florida, Indiana, and Missouri? There may be many answers to that question, but here are a few. The pursuit of good health-many of us are just sick and tired of being sick and tired! The desire to help others to be educated on Health, Wellness, and Nutrition is one of the biggest reasons Natural Hope Herbals has hosted this Free educational event for the last 6 years. It is a way of giving back to the community. There were several gifted teachers, from as far away as Germany, share on topics from The Importance of our Diet, How the body actually functions, to Why we need to help our bodies De-tox.
Part of the secret to wellness is in the Soil, so the theme this year was “Wellness from the Ground Up.” It is important to understand that Healthy Soil produces Healthy Plant life, which produces Healthy Animals and ultimately Healthy People. Some want to learn how to be better stewards of the soil. There was even an expert who shared about the soil's structure from down in a soil pit in one of the fields.
Some people came especially to learn more about Homesteading and Food security. There were demonstrations scheduled on Fermented Vegetables, Curing and Smoking your own meats, the Value of Cultured Dairy Products, and even a live talk & walk to the Bee Hives.
Some, especially the young, came for the special things provided just for them: Barrel Train Rides; a Bounce House; A large Shelled Corn Bin, Games; Balloons, and even a real Camel ride.
Others came for Learning more about herbs; as the Master Herbalists took turns sharing the “Deep Dives” into herbal understanding, and also manned a booth so visitors could meet them one-on-one with their pressing questions. Many enjoyed either a horse or tractor-drawn tour of the working Regenerative Organic Medicinal Herb Farm, where the event is held. Some were glad to find special herb plants to purchase and take home for their own herb gardens.
Yet others came mainly for the over 60 carefully selected Vendors, selling anything from Homemade Milling Equipment to solid Wooden Toys; Local Organic Grain; Local Honey; Local Organic Meat; Eggs; Cheese; Produce; Clean-label Energy Drink Mixes; Lab Services; Clean Label Personal Care Items; Health Magazines, Mail order and bulk distributors, etc. to name a few.
Last, but not least, was the good, fresh Natural & Organic Foods available, from Healthy Breakfast Sandwiches in the morning, to Organic Coffee Drinks and Smoothies available throughout the day, to fresh Organically raised Beef Burger on Homemade Rolls; an Organic Haystack Meal; Organic French Fries and Potato Chips, made right there and finally Organic A2 Homemade Ice Cream, reminded you of the old saying; “Welcome to Penna. Dutch Country, if you leave here hungry, it will be your own fault.
